Testosterone – that sex hormone we need to not only feel in our prime, but also support muscle mass and strength, as well as other benefits. These best testosterone boosters will give you what you need in the fight against decline.

Testosterone is a naturally occurring hormone that is created in both the male and female body. It is largely responsible for regulating a healthy sex drive, maintaining a healthy weight and helping to maintain and build muscle and bone mass.

Although it is an important hormone for men and women, reduced levels of testosterone can have a far greater negative impact on men’s health than that of women.

Unfortunately, natural levels of testosterone production peaks for most men by the time they reach their mid-twenties. At the age of 30, most men are likely already experiencing declining levels of free testosterone in the body. From hereon in, the rate continues to decline naturally.

The good news is that with the right nutrition and effective supplementation, it is possible to help reverse this decline and actually boost testosterone levels.

For this, we turn to natural testosterone boosters. We are not talking about TRT or the use of injections or implants – we are talking about supplements that include natural ingredients that have been scientifically proven to increase testosterone naturally.

With so many products on the market that claim to do this, it can be hard to choose, but we have made it our mission to find the best testosterone boosters available in the UK (and beyond) to help you make an informed choice.

Members of the Fitness Push team have tested these products and although our findings are purely based on our own anecdotal results, we have tried to back them up with the studies that support the ingredients used where possible.

TLDR: Our No.1 Testosterone Booster

testoprime bottles

Testoprime is the standout supplement for anyone wanting to boost their testosterone levels through natural means.

The all-natural ingredients help the body to increase production of Luteinizing hormone, which not only helps to boost free testosterone, but can also help to regulate body fat.

There are a few good selections on our list, but Testoprime came out top in our testing.

7 Best Testosterone Boosters For The UK

The natural supplementation market is booming in the UK right now as more and more people look to bio-hack their way to physical and mental perfection – or at least to be the best version of themselves possible.

The best testosterone boosters will have an impact on both mental and physical aspects of your health. This is because having higher levels of testosterone in the body will naturally improve your mood and have a whole range of physical benefits – some of which we shall cover right after we look at our top 7 T-boosters.

TestoPrime

Testoprime bottle

There are a few things that we looked for when compiling our list of the best testosterone boosters.

We wanted something that had an all-natural ingredient profile that is clearly identifiable (in both ingredients and quantities), something that is affordable, a supplement that has great user reviews and a product that is scientifically backed or at the very least includes ingredients that have been clinically studied.

TestoPrime ticked every box for us and so we tested it for a period of 3 months.

3 months later and the team member that started taking this natural T-booster for review purposes is now continuing to take the supplement – and the reason for this is (and we quote), ‘The results are clear and obvious‘.

It’s hard to find a better endorsement behind a supplement, so let’s take a look at TestoPrime in a little more detail.

TestoPrime is part of Wolfson Brands Ltd. and is based in the UK. It is a company we know well as they have developed a few high-quality supplements. As a company, they focus on just a few types of supplements rather than trying to cash in on producing hundreds. Their products are well-known for including premium-level ingredients, and TestoPrime is no exception to this.

In each serving you will find 12 active ingredients with everything being fully accounted for (no hidden proprietary blends here).

Each serving is comprised of 2 capsules and includes pretty much all of the ‘big-hitters’ when it comes to natural testosterone boosting ingredients, as well as some others that offer additional benefits that serve to alleviate some of the symptoms of low T.

The big 4 ingredients include ashwagandha (668mg), panax ginseng (8000mg), D-aspartic Acid (2000mg) and fenugreek (800mg). We’ll explain the benefits of these in just a second, but in addition to these 4 ingredients you also get:

  • Green Tea Extract (4000mg)
  • Vitamin D
  • Zinc (40mg)
  • Vitamin B6
  • Vitamin B5
  • Pomegranate Extract (360mg)
  • Garlic Extract (1200mg)
  • Black Pepper Extract (Piperine)

This mix of completely natural ingredients promises to bring physical and cognitive benefits as well as being a bit of a who’s who for men’s health supplementation.

Every single ingredient is linked to a study that supports its inclusion as a testosterone booster, but additionally, you are going to be getting multiple benefits from taking vitamins and minerals that include Zinc, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B5.

The reason we listed the first four as the big-hitters is that these are the ingredients that will do the most to combat the effects of low testosterone whilst offering to increase free testosterone levels.

D-aspartic Acid is a natural amino acid that helps the body to produce LH (Luteinizing hormone) which has been found to increase testosterone and elicit impressive physical gains in terms of muscle and the regulation of body fat.

Panax ginseng and fenugreek both have energy boosting properties as well as being found to improve libido (a welcome effect for anyone suffering from testosterone decline).

Ashwagandha is clinically backed in its ability to help maintain T-levels and improve weight loss, increase muscle growth and improve mood – which is why we see it in so many supplements.

There is no doubt that taking TestoPrime will have a significant impact from a nutritional point of view. Our tester (a 36-year-old physically fit male) reported a noticeable uplift in mood, energy levels and also reported strength gains through resistance training.

To see the full benefits you will need to be leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle, but as natural T-boosting supplements go, they don’t come with a better profile than that of TestoPrime.

Testoprime booster

User testimonies are also incredibly positive and it is pretty hard to find much in the way of negativity around this supplement.

The only real downside is that it is not the cheapest, but when buying in package deals of 3 months you can secure some excellent discounts.

We’d also like to have seen Magnesium included in the mix, so you might want to consider adding a Magnesium supplement to your diet if you can’t get it in adequate quantities from your food intake.

What’s more, Wolfson offer a lifetime guarantee in which they will refund you if you are not happy – something that apparently only 2% of users take them up on.

There’s not much to lose with the guarantee in mind and quite a lot to gain – especially if you see the kind of results that our tester enjoyed.

Testogen

testogen box

Testogen is a testosterone booster made by UK-based Health Nutrition Limited who are located in Nottingham. It is a T-booster that packs an impressive list of active ingredients, all of which are clearly labelled with no proprietary blends in sight. So far so good.

In terms of its ingredient profile, it includes some of the usual suspects (as we see with TestoPrime in a moment) but it also has some additions to the mix, as well as leaving a few out.

This is a product a few members of the team have used previously but in the interests of fairness we asked one of our writers who had no previous experience of taking any testosterone boosting supplements to test this one out.

We see D-Aspartic Acid as one of the headliners, with Testogen providing a slightly higher dosage per serving (2352mg).

However, many of the other ingredients are in much lower quantities. Though it’s worth noting, it isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as there are some excellent additional ingredients instead.

The full list of ingredients found in Testogen includes:

  • D-Aspartic Acid (2352mg)
  • Magnesium (200mg)
  • Fenugreek Extract (40mg)
  • Zinc (10mg)
  • Korean Red Ginseng Extract (40mg)
  • Vitamin D3 (50mcg)
  • Vitamin B6 (20mg)
  • Vitamin K1 (20mcg)
  • Boron (8mg)
  • Nettle Leaf Extract (40mg)
  • Bioperine (5mg)

What we see with Testogen is a bit more of a focus on mood enhancement. Although we wouldn’t go so far as to say that Testogen is a nootropic, it certainly has more than a passing interest in nootropic qualities.

The addition of magnesium, boron and vitamin K1 for example are all well-known for increasing energy levels and mood – but boron in particular has also been shown to increase the level of free testosterone thanks to its ability to provide a heightened testosterone metabolism.

Nettle leaf extract is another interesting addition as it seeks to tackle the root of the problem in as much as it helps to prevent SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) from binding itself to testosterone.

The reason this is important is that once SHBG has bound itself to testosterone it is no longer of use – and such, the inclusion of nettle leaf extract can in turn boost free testosterone levels that would otherwise be redundant.

In addition to the capsule-based supplements, Testogen also comes in drop form. This is supposed to give an instant energy boost and isn’t something that we would really recommend as a T-booster. It’s not going to hurt the results of using Testogen but it is likely not going to help much either.

Our 33-year-old male tester reported good results from using Testogen and saw a marked improvement in energy levels as well as reporting peak levels of libido. They combined it with a cardio and resistance training regime and saw improvements in lean muscle growth after 8-10 weeks.

Shipping for Testogen is free and although the one-month supply can be expensive, when buying in bulk there are some great deals to be had and there is a 100 day refund guarantee, so there is little to lose from trying it.

Testonine

testonine back of bottle

Testonine is a relatively new T-booster to hit the UK market but it is another product from Health Nutrition Limited and as such we had high expectations of this supplement.

It sits at a similar price point to the other supplements on the list which puts it firmly in the ‘premium’ price band.

The ingredients list supports the price and unlike most of the other testosterone boosters we reviewed you get some good doses, such as 400mg of Tongkat Ali (which is probably more than double what is really needed) and 250mg of Maca.

Both are well known within natural bodybuilding circles as being highly effective at helping to build muscle mass and strength. There are also multiple studies to support their inclusion as testosterone boosters – so if you are looking to build muscle as a result of your increased T-levels you are likely going to be well suited to Testonine.

You also get 250mg of L-arginine, an amino acid that helps to increase blood flow which aids protein synthesis and also helps with sexual performance. Then there is 50mg of zinc and 125mg of ginseng, which is comparable to what we see in Testogen.

Testonine is also packed full of the following:

  • Oat Straw
  • Sarsaparilla (root) Extract
  • Pumpkin (seed)
    extract
  • Muira Puama (bark) Extract
  • Nettle Leaf
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Astragalus (root) Extract
  • Licorice (root) Extract
  • Catuaba
  • Tribulus Terrestris
  • Oyster Extract
  • Boron
  • Orchic

Although these are all very worthy ingredients they are part of a ‘blend’, which means we don’t know the quantities of each individual ingredient. Hopefully this is something that Testonine will address in time as it is still relatively new after launch.

That being said, the ingredients are far-ranging and all offer benefits when it comes to testosterone. Orchic is perhaps the most controversial and unproven ingredient and actually derives from cows testicles (something you might want to be aware of).

For best results you should take 2 capsules daily, just before eating. Our tester used this supplement for 2 months and saw some impressive results. Improved energy and visual results in the reduction of body fat and improved muscle mass were all reported after the 2-month period.

Anyone wanting to try Testonine for themselves can benefit from a 100 day money back guarantee so there is little to lose, and as the brand has been developed by Health Nutrition Limited this product has just sneaked in third place on our list.

Testo-Max

testomax bottle front

Testo-Max is brought to us by another high-quality supplement producer – CrazyBulk. They are a company we know well that produce legal alternatives to banned substances such as steroids.

Of course these are made from all-natural ingredients and the same can be said about Testo-Max – which is not to be confused with the Nutravita product of a very similar name, Testomax (note the very subtle difference).

In fact, we see a lot of the ingredients in Testo-Max that we saw in both TestoPrime and Testogen – with it almost being a hybrid of the two.

There is one key selling point to Testo-Max though and that is that CrazyBulk tend to offer their products in stacks – meaning you can combine their supplements – and depending on your goals you will want to combine them in different ways.

So for example, if you are looking to cut or lose weight, you could combine Testo-Max with their cutting stack, or for those looking to pack on muscle mass you could combine it with their bulking stack. This is by no means required, but it is always good to know you can combine it with their other supplements for potentially greater results specific to your goals.

Each bottle contains 30 servings, with one serving comprising of 4 capsules. There is a lot crammed into each daily serving and the dosages are impressive – as is the ingredients list.

We kick off with D-aspartic Acid (2,352mg), magnesium (200mg), zinc (10mg) and vitamins D3, K1 and B6.

You also get nettle leaf extract, panax ginseng, fenugreek extract, boron and piperine. This is a potent combination of ingredients all designed to help your body naturally boost testosterone as well as providing a stimulant-free energy boost.

CrazyBulk is a company based in the USA, but they ship from the UK with next day free delivery as standard.

User reviews are incredible and we had to go a long way to find anything negative about this supplement – even then it was a comment about having to take 4 capsules per day, which is no major concern if you are getting the benefits that Testo-Max promises.

We cannot attest from a scientifically proven point of view as to whether Testo-Max (or indeed any of the testosterone boosters reviewed on this page) increases the level of free testosterone in the body, but our tester (and thousands of user reviews) account for excellent results in terms of reversing the symptoms of low T.

Our tester reported a significant improvement in sustained energy levels, improved performance in the gym and improved recovery times. They also noted (quite adamantly) how much it helped sexual performance and desire.

CrazyBulk have some fantastic bulk buy deals with 3 months for the price of 2 being the standout offer. They offer UK phone and online chat support if there is any kind of issue with your order and we would happily endorse this product – particularly if you are either bulking or cutting and wanting to combine it with one of their stacks.

Hunter Test

Hunter Test is brought to us by the supplement company Hunter Evolve. There is something quite special about this company as they only manufacture and supply three products in their entire range. One of these is Hunter Test, the others being a high-quality nootropic (Hunter Focus) and a highly effective fat burner (Hunter Burn).

We are huge fans of companies that don’t go after every supplement going – leaving them to focus on getting it absolutely right with the few products they are creating.

It seems that this has worked well for Hunter Evolve and in particular, their Hunter Test T-booster is one of the most exciting supplements we have tested. They go big on dosages to really look to invoke the biggest changes within the body – again, doing so using purely natural ingredients.

Every ingredient in Hunter Test goes big on the dose – and everything is backed up by scientific studies supported their inclusion as effective tools to increase testosterone.

Hunter Test do a pretty good job of marketing the supplement and they break the ingredients down in to three sections – Muscle Mass Amplifier, Energy Ignition and Performance Power. We are not huge fans of marketing language such as this, but these three titles do a pretty good job of describing what Hunter Test is trying to achieve.

This type of marketing did give Hunter Evolve the chance to hide behind a proprietary blend for each section – thankfully they didn’t do this, and they give us the full breakdown of ingredients and quantities.

Hunter Test includes:

  • D-Aspartic Acid (3000mg) – we are used to seeing this by now and this is the greatest dose we have seen of this in all of the testosterone boosters
  • Magnesium (200mg)
  • Zinc (30mg)
  • Panax Ginseng (300mg) – again a very generous dosage
  • Ashwagandha Extract (300mg)
  • Boron (10mg)
  • Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2
  • Indole-3-carbinol (200mg)

All of those ingredients should by now look familiar, with the exception of Indole-3-carbinol, which is a compound that derives from the brassica family (think broccoli and cauliflower). I3C is found to reduce SHBG, which essentially lowers the production of estrogen – which in turn helps to keep T levels high.

The scientific studies that support the ingredients in Hunter Test are clear to see and are well explained on their website, with links and citations to each individual study. Our tester had excellent results with it and the only reason we place it where we do on our list of best UK testosterone boosters is that it is the priciest of the lot.

There is good reason for this of course, as the dose per serving is high, but we question whether you get that much benefit from the increased doses over those we have placed above.

We applaud Hunter Test, and for those seeking fast results it is probably a great option. But for those who want long-term, steady results (and something more affordable), then we’d stick with one of our top 3.

Prime Male

Brought to us by UK company Roar Ambition Ltd., Prime Male is another great testosterone booster that we managed to get our hands on. It includes 12 active ingredients that are all clearly indicated with quantities, and we see all the usual suspects that we are seeing across most of these products.

Prime Male does have one slight issue though. It goes the opposite way to Hunter Test in that its quantities are typically lower than most of the products we tested. That being said, it can be stacked with their ‘Enhance’ formula for greater libido-related benefits, and it is pretty affordable when compared to other supplements.

Their Vitality Complex (which is their T-booster) includes 1600mg of D-aspartic acid (pretty much the lowest dose we have seen so far), 5mg of boron (again – around half what we would expect), 120mg of red ginseng, 60mg of luteolin (a welcome addition that prevents estrogen production), 30mcg of zinc, 100mg of magnesium, 300mg of ashwagandha extract (no quibbles with the quantity here), 160mg of nettle Root extract, vitamin B6, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2.

As you can see, it has a pretty impressive line-up of ingredients that should provide physical and cognitive benefits in addition to helping to raise testosterone.

Prime Male ships from the UK and has very good testimonials. We do take issue with some of the language used on the website. We get that it is very clearly aimed at men, but some of the potentially sexist language used just isn’t to our taste. They also deploy some old-style video testimonials.

That being said, our tester had good results from using Prime Male and it looks to be an effective T-booster – perhaps more suited to those looking to take it indefinitely.

Testofuel

testofuel single bottle

Testofuel completes our line-up of the best testosterone boosters and is far from an inferior supplement that should be overlooked purely because it happens to be at the bottom of our list.

We probably could have included another 3 or 4 products in our list, but Testofuel found its place comfortably and would give even our number 1 T-booster a run for its money.

Packed full of natural ingredients, all of which are clinically backed, and most of which we have seen in our other supplements featured on this page (but with a couple of notable additions), Testofuel should without doubt be up for your consideration.

Again, this product is available for shipping from the UK and its prices are pretty much identical to those of Prime Male, but with some slightly better dosages in the ingredients. Everything is offered up with no proprietary blends and from what we can see the inclusion of the ingredients chosen all make sense and are provided in adequate quantities.

There are 4 capsules to be taken each day and it is recommended that you spread these out through the day. This is probably to give a consistent intake of the ingredients in an attempt to maintain balanced energy levels throughout the day.

We see adequate amounts of the vitamins and minerals with D3 and K2 in the mix as well as magnesium and zinc. Then we move on to 2000mg of D-aspartic acid, 800mg of fenugreek extract, 100mg of panax ginseng and 8mg of boron – pretty much spot on with the quantities we have to say.

We then get 1800mg of maca root extract – which we have only seen once so far – and 100mg of oyster shell, which is perhaps unsurprisingly there for its libido-enhancing properties. Maca root offers a wide range of benefits including aiding sleep and recovery, improving libido, and increasing strength and stamina.

Our tester really found Testofuel to be effective. He was new to resistance training and was finding it hard to make progress after hitting plateaus at 5 months in to a resistance training program. It could be a coincidence or even a placebo effect, but when taking Testofuel he stated that he was able to push through these plateaus and reach new heights during his workouts.

Everything stacks up with Testofuel and we are happy to endorse it as a potentially highly effective testosterone booster.

Why Use A Testosterone Booster?

There is no getting away from the scientific fact that as men go past the age of 30 their testosterone levels reduce at a rapid rate. Although the rate of T-level reduction lowers past the the age of 50, it still continues to reduce into old age.

There are a number of negative effects this can have on men, such as:

  • Lower libido and losing appetite for sex
  • Lack of energy and a greater feeling of fatigue
  • Reduced recovery levels from physical stressors
  • Decreasing levels of muscle and bone mass
  • Higher levels of body fat
  • Experiencing negative emotions or even depression
  • Lower levels of hair production

These are all reasons to consider using a testosterone booster. Of course, you can and should attempt to reverse this through diet and nutrition, but it is not very practical.

T-boosters on the other hand can provide quick and highly effective ways to reverse the decline of testosterone in the body, with results in as little as just 2 weeks.

Boosting Testosterone Through Nutrition

There are some foods and individual supplements that can be taken to attempt to boost testosterone. Although this will likely not be as effective as a dedicated T-booster, it will go some way to helping you naturally slow the decline of T in the body.

Taking zinc and magnesium supplements are a great and fairly low-cost way to help combat lowering T levels. Getting adequate Vitamin D from natural sunlight is another great boost to your system.

Foods that can help include eggs, tuna, oysters and beans.

Whether managing your testosterone levels through nutrition or supplementation (or both), you should also look to make the most of your lifestyle choices to support this. Getting adequate sleep, avoiding excessive alcohol consumption and staying active are all great ways to keep T levels higher.

Verdict

We have tested and brought you some really effective testosterone boosters and hopefully there is one that resonates with you. Our top pick is TestoPrime purely because we saw the greatest results with it. We have tested it outside of this review too, it is manufactured by a well known company that we trust and it has that lifetime money back guarantee.

Testogen comes in a very close second, but we are confident that whichever you choose from this list you will be well served by.
